AMT / Ertl '63 Corvette Split Window Coupe

I am currently working on a AMT / Ertl '63 Corvette Split Window Coupe. I wanted to build this as a custom. I planned it out with two major sections, and numerous minor ones. The main modification I wanted to do was to widen the rear fenders. They ended up being widened by 4-5 scale inches. The second modification was to graft on a Camaro t-top. This was a relatively easy part, as it has about the same shape as the stock roof. The only problem was that I had to narrow the plastic 1-2 centimeters. This was my first custom model car, so I decided to experiment with heat sinking some wire to hold the plastic together. This proved to be very challenging in the sense that you had no play time between when the wire was hot and when it cooled. This is what I have done so far. Now I have to do some evening of the fenders, and then final sanding. Then I will either shorten and narrow the removable parts of the t-top, or scratchbuild them. I removed the stock front corner-mounted signal lights, and will place new ones behind the mesh grille. This model will have opened front fender vents as well, utilizing more mesh. The powerplant will be a 454 with dual Holleys and nitrous. The wheels and tires will be from a Revell-Monogram Lamborghini Diablo VT. The doors might be opened but it is hard to tell so I'll se how the fender widening goes. The hood was opened out of the box, but the mechanism is flimsy and unreliable, so they will be removed and scratchbuilt.

Pictures as soon as possible.

Tamiya Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6

Not quite finished, as it needs to be polished an assembled. The mask for the back windows black area doesn't fit flat on the plastic, so it bled and I'll also have to clean that up. Here are some pics.
